Cult Classics // China Glaze For Audrey

May 01, 2013 0
Cult Classics // China Glaze For Audrey
For Audrey has been near the top of my To try cult list for a while. So I had finally bought it amongst Flip Flop Fantasy & Flirty Tankini on Brands Exclusive. It is a gorgeous pale turquoise or Tiffany blue colour, as the name suggests if you're familar with Breakfast at Tiffanys' & Audrey Hepburn. It is a cream finish and I found the consistency was pretty good while applying it, with only a few streaks that were covered by the second coat.
Unfortunately with my work light colours do not last too well on me as I am always rinsing off colours so it stains them. I generally don't have them on for longer than a week but sometimes I just reapply another layer.

And playing around with a nail stamp which the gorgeous Amalia had sent to me, I'm not very good but practice makes perfect!

I bought this from Brands Exclusive for around $8 but as that is a flash sale website like ozsale it is always available to buy online from Beauty Joint for $4. I suppose I sometimes pay double the price when I know I don't have to pay that much as they are more expensive in stores over here, anyway.

I am finally able to post on Instagram again, my name is missashii_x and if you care to follow I will follow back ^^

Aussie Aussie Aussie! FOTD

January 28, 2013 0
Aussie Aussie Aussie! FOTD
Oi Oi Oi!

On Saturday was Australia Day, better known as "Straya Day" to some (in case you didn't know, we love our slang!) It is that awesome day where you beach it, bbq & drink and have fun with friends & family. This year my brother, his gf & our mate came down to celebrate with us on the long weekend.

So of course I had to make my makeup Aus day themed, although it looks more American & French than aussie because the colours are the same but it was too much effort to draw the union jack onto my eyes :P But I loved it none the less, and I just received these glitters 2 days before!

I made sure to blend the colours well, until I added the glitter & couldn't blend them!
Silly me wearing glitter to the beach, as I was in the water and got splashed I got glitter in my eyes (I don't normally wear eye makeup when I go, btw!) but that doesn't matter :)

~Products~
Face: I only wore a light cover of Rimmel Wake Me Up Fdtn & Garnier BB Cream & NARS laguna bronzer.
Eyes: MAC Painterly
NYX White base
Inglot Matte White e/s (sorry too hard to look up number XD)
Red & Blue shadow from 120 palette
Tan blending colour from Bh Cosmetics Day & Night.
LA Splash glitters: Starlight Red, Deep Blue Sea
Maybelline Master Precise
Nyx Slide on Pencil- Sunrise Blue
Essence I <3 Extreme volume mascara
 Lips: Sportsgirl Fruit Tingle

In-coincidentally I ordered these glitter colours without realizing they would come in handy!
Also I mentioned I did some nail art on my toe nails, it's not the neatest but its.. cute? I also did this last year ;)

And a couple of other pictures....

Being a poser enjoying the sun on the jetski hehe
Now we are ready to head out! Hmm looks like I cut my hair!
Thanks for looking! If you celebrate Australia Day I hope you had a fun day & partied hard! :D

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!
I haven't properly posted my NOTW for a while so I've put together quite a few that I have done recently! We have had gel at my work for a little while so I was playing around with it a bit there but the truth was I missed playing with my colours which I did not want to neglect!

Ever since I used the cling-wrap method here I've wanted to do it again . Sadly I have to have my nails short for work- I've always had long nails so it sucks for me. =/

Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Material Girl, Sportsgirl Nail It! in Bionic.

I hadn't used a shatter polish for a while so I used my Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat polish in 06 Antiqued Gold over the top of Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Hissy Fit.
China Glaze Sweet Hook, Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber One less Lonely Girl.

My *first* go at gradient nails so it is a mess but I liked the colours together. You can still see my white base & there are gouges out of them and I had sponge sticking to my nails because I stupidly did not wet it first. I used China Glaze Pool Party, OPI Hot n Spicy & Ulta 3 Honolulu.

My Ombre nails which is different to a gradient as it does not fade subtly into another colour. I've already posted this Christmas mani. I used O.P.I's Goldeneye & Nicole by O.P.I Justin Bieber in OMB!. It was quite funny Christmas day we were lazing around that afternoon out in the sun when I bought out a nail polish to change my toes, and the ladies wanted theirs done so I brought out most of my collection (they were in awe over it hehe) and I ended up doing it for them too.

This was my NYE mani which I've again already posted but wanted it to be apart of this post, using OPI Koala Berry & OPI the living daylights. It didn't look as nice as how I thought it would!

My 2nd proper attempt at gradient nails, using Australis Nail Colour in Bombshell, China Glaze Sweet Hook & Rimmel 60 seconds in Bonzai. Still not perfect!

One of my fave mani's I have ever done, I think, my sunset gradient nails! I fell in loove with the contrast of the blue against the other colours. And the sparkles of course!

OPI Blue My Mind, OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold Em, OPI Hot n Spicy, China Glaze Yell-O-Neil, OPI China Glaze Snow Globe.

At the moment I have Australia day themed nails, which is coming up this sat 26th, on my toes I have the flag design & on my fingers, green & gold. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Thanks for looking girls I hope you like my nail designs! I want to start posting my nail polish collection, one day anyway haha, would you prefer to see them in brands or by colour?

My NYE makeup

January 07, 2013 0
My NYE makeup
Hey guys, once again sorry for another late post with my New Years Eve makeup! I've been so busy this week to be able to get around to posting it. So I hope everyone had a great night partying, or whatever you did :) We had the hottest day on new years day that we've had in a long time.... 46.C or 115 F.! Which kinda sucked because it was way too hot for the beach :(
Anyway, it was humid on NYE especially when I was getting ready, so ignore the creasing!

So of course being NYE I had to add glitter to the look. I was a little bit inspired by Lisa Eldridge's party makeup look with the shape & colouring, and wanted it to match my dress without being too matchy-matchy.

 ~Products~
Face: Australis Paparazzi Perfect foundation, Garnier BB Cream
Physicians Formula mineral glow pearls in Beige Pearl
MAC Lightscapade
MAC Peachykeen

Eyes: Essence I <3 Stage primer
Essence mousse eyeshadow in Black as a base applied in a winged shape with Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald applied to the middle.
Inglot P428 (dark blue) on black, silvery green from BH Cosmetics Day & Night palette in the middle.
Fyrianne Pixie Epoxy to middle (sticky base), Nyx Silver glitter on top. (patted on some more of the shimmery green to mute the silver). Shimmery white from Day & Night palette to highlight & skintone colour to blend above crease. Nyx Slide on pencil in Sunrise Blue on lower lashline with blue from inglot on top. Nyx Candy Glitter liner in Disco Ball in inner lashline.
Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner, Essence I <3 Extreme mascara, Ardell Demi Wispies lashes.

Lips: Revlon Matte L/S in Smoked Peach
Nyx lipgloss in Sugarpie

Just playing around with the contrast a little bit :]

NYE Nails... don't look as good as in real life! Base: O.P.I Koala Berry, O.P.I The living daylights with a pink glitter gel from Sally Hansen.

OOTN:
Dress from Showponyfashion.com.au (love the heart cutout in the back!) & shoes by Spendless Shoes. My feet had taken shape to them by the end of the night- ouch!

So that's basically it, thanks so much for looking! Of course I want to say welcome & thank you to all my new followers & to the old ones for supporting me throughout 2012..... There is still one week until my giveaway closes! Click here to enter.

More Christmas... Makeup & Nails

More Christmas... Makeup & Nails
Sorry this is a bit late, as everyone is already out of the Christmas mode as it comes to NYE! I didn't want to leave it any later, so this will be my last post for 2012. Can't believe the year is coming to an end, it went by so quickly, feels like just yesterday I was getting ready for last NYE. So yeah, here is my Christmas Eve & Day Makeup.

Christmas Eve
I had been wearing very similar makeup all day for work, so I just touched up my foundation with a bit of Garnier BB Cream, added more blush & fixed the eyes.

I like how warm toned this picture turned out.

 Quick Product Breakdown~
Cheeks: MAC Pink Swoon
Eyes: BH Cosmetics Day & Night: Gold [inner lid], bronze [lid], shimmery taupe [crease]
Lips: MAC Myth with a coral ligloss over the top [hadn't re-touched it for a few hours so it's worn off a fair bit]
My OOTN, this sequined top is by Ally fashion & is actually sheer so I wore a bandeau bra underneath. I felt it was nice & Christmassy :) I wore crochet shorts also from Ally. But I had to change later as it got a bit cold so I wore pleather leggings which I think looked cute with the top.

Christmas Day
You may have seen it briefly in my previous post but I like how my makeup turned out on xmas day so here it is! I used all the festive colours & thought it would be too much but it worked out well, although when I was doing it I just went for it without knowing exactly what I was doing.

 Product Breakdown
Cheeks: I can't actually remember fully but I think it was Top Shop cream blush in Head over heels with Jordana Coral Sandy Beach
Eyes: Sugarpill Goldiluxe, Red & Green -Bh Cosmetics Day & Night palette, with Nyx Slide on Pencil in Green Papaya as a base for the green shadow. Matte white highlight from same palette.
Lips: Maybelline Coral Crush (later I ended up adding Nyx Eros to the outer corners.)
Christmas Day OOTD: I wanted to show off this cute dress from www.showponyfashion.com, we had lunch outside so when I stood up I kept doing the Marilyn :P

Christmas Nails
This is my second time playing around with gradient or ombre nails using a sponge, & since I had gotten O.P.I Goldeneye the week before I pictured it with a sparkly red on my nails!

 So festive!!

So how are y'all bringing in the new year? Party hard, quiet night in?? & How will you be doing your makeup?? I have sort of an idea for tonight!! & we are going to a bar/restaurant on the water that is having a band playing so it should be good!

See you in 2013!!

MAC & OPI Haul

December 21, 2012 0
MAC & OPI Haul
If you haven't been to www.ozsale.com.au before, you should check it out! --If you're in Australia, of course. They have great deals going all the time & a couple of months ago they had MAC & OPI on sale. Unfortunately the worst part of the website is the shipping- yes I have finally just received my products when I ordered them in October I think? When I saw they had MAC, I knew I would have to set my alarm as a reminder so I could go on straight away and not miss out. Honestly, it was quite disappointing! They said they had a huge selection, but when I went on at 9am on the dot they had 3 lipsticks, about 7 eye shadows & 7 blushes to choose from, so maybe it pays to be a member? O.P.I on the other hand had an amazing choice! Anyway, I still managed to pick up a few goodies.

 O.P.I
As I mentioned, O.P.I had an awesome selection so it was hard to choose! But I knew I had to grab these 2 polishes from the James Bond collection, The Living Daylights & Goldeneye. I'm planning to do a gradient with goldeneye & a red for Christmas! Someone who drove me to order it was Sleepandwater.
& then I thought I would get 2 extra polishes, going with Natural Nail Strengthener & Hot & Spicy. Although I really should think about similar colours!! I have an Essence one that looks so similar to H&S so I will have to do a comparison on that. I've tried out the strengthener, & while I can't feel a difference just yet it did dry fairly quickly. I will probably use it as a top coat every few days, or when my nails feel weak from being in water so often for work.
Obviously no need to swatch the nail strengthener, but even on paper these turn out so pretty.

MAC
So although there were a few blushes to choose from, not many caught my eye. But I've heard a lot about pink swoon & it's always looked so pretty to me so that one I got. I couldn't swatch it on my hand without it showing up so I'll let you know when I use it.
Out of the 3 lipsticks, I already had one (hue). I was hoping to get Impassioned but of course they didn't have it! So I bought the other 2, Myth & Rebel.
Myth is a sort of orangey nude & rebel is a gorgeous dark purple which I have nothing like so it will be perfect in the colder months.

So yeah that's pretty much it! Don't forget to check out ozsale and sign up for emails so you know straight away when the good deals are on
