Cult Classics // China Glaze For Audrey

May 01, 2013 0
Cult Classics // China Glaze For Audrey
For Audrey has been near the top of my To try cult list for a while. So I had finally bought it amongst Flip Flop Fantasy & Flirty Tankini on Brands Exclusive. It is a gorgeous pale turquoise or Tiffany blue colour, as the name suggests if you're familar with Breakfast at Tiffanys' & Audrey Hepburn. It is a cream finish and I found the consistency was pretty good while applying it, with only a few streaks that were covered by the second coat.
Unfortunately with my work light colours do not last too well on me as I am always rinsing off colours so it stains them. I generally don't have them on for longer than a week but sometimes I just reapply another layer.

And playing around with a nail stamp which the gorgeous Amalia had sent to me, I'm not very good but practice makes perfect!

I bought this from Brands Exclusive for around $8 but as that is a flash sale website like ozsale it is always available to buy online from Beauty Joint for $4. I suppose I sometimes pay double the price when I know I don't have to pay that much as they are more expensive in stores over here, anyway.

I am finally able to post on Instagram again, my name is missashii_x and if you care to follow I will follow back ^^

China Glaze Nail Lacquer// Shocking Pink Swatches

March 01, 2013 0
China Glaze Nail Lacquer// Shocking Pink Swatches
Everybody loves a good neon, right? Well, I know I do, especially on my nails. I think I will continue wearing neon colours long into winter. China Glaze Shocking Pink is the perfect pick-me-up I will be needing, because the colder months are about to hit.

As with any neon nail polishes, I find you can see your nail peaking through, so I primed with a white base (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear), except I forgot to do it for the pinky if you can notice the difference? Also I am trying to be neater with my cuticles but ain't nobody got time for the clean up after! (never mind the bits of white peaking out).
Doesn't look as bright as IRL.
Going out the night, I was dancing with a friend when she said, OMG your nails are glowing! I totally had to take a picture, then :D

Yes, I knocked my thumbnail not long after applying :(

For a topcoat I use China Glaze Patent Leather Top Coat which makes them super shiny! I shall have to do a before/ after! Ooh I need a glittery silver colour which I think would be perfect for an accent nail with this colour! Is there a nice one from China Glaze anyone could recommend?

I bought this one from Beautyjoint.com which I found they are $3.99 on there! I was buying from ozsale for ~$7- $8 when it came up but this is by far the cheapest I've ever seen, and I think I'll ever get.

What are your fave neon nail polish colours? xx

Collective haul! Cherryculture, Beautyjoint, China Glaze & More.

February 17, 2013 0
Collective haul! Cherryculture, Beautyjoint, China Glaze & More.
I've been waiting a while to receive all my packages that I ordered around the same time so I could put them into a collective haul-style post this time. I've been using some of the products in my FOTD's so I'm happy I can finally show you properly, now!

Cherry Culture
Nyx Eye Shadow Base in White, Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
Nyx Black Label Lipstick in Nude
La Splash Glitter Splash (names below)
Cherryculture.com has regular specials & I'm pretty sure I got these Nyx products between 15-25% off when they are a good price anyway. The glitters were $5.99 each, and they have the biggest range! I can definitely recommend these glitters, and I've used them in a couple of looks and you can see how glitter can also be wearable but then also dramatic (obviously!! It's all up to you how it turns out ;)). I found this website has extremely quick shipping as I ordered these not long before beauty joint but I got them 2 weeks before!
 Giveaway Prize
Technically not a haul but new products none the less, I was so excited to win crosswiredreamers.blogspot.com giveaway!! I never expected to win it when I entered so thank you so much girls! I got the Stila In The Light palette, Face of Australia Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons (funnily enough I had these in my giveaway but never actually tried them :P) & 2 O.P.I glitter nail polishes in Gettin' Miss Piggy with it & Fresh Frog of Bel Air from the muppets collection.

Ozsale
Ozsale.com had another special on China Glaze so I bought 2 of them to replace the ones I never received/ broke in the mail. I replaced skyscraper with Dorothy Who, a similar looking colour that is so gorgeous! As for the 2 light pink's, I was looking at swatches before hand and one looked like a light flesh toned nude colour and the other a baby pink, but both turned out to be like a french pink!!! With one being a tiny bit darker. Oh well, I will find out which one I like more and give the other away.
L-R: Patent Leather Top Coat, Dorothy Who, Diva Bride, Innocence.

Beauty Joint
I didn't buy any necessities from beautyjoint.com but some pretties, that I had to have.
Top- Jordana Glitters Nail Polish in City Lights, China Glaze Shocking Pink, ELF HD Blush in Headliner, Nyx Stick Blush in Orchid.
Bottom- Wet n Wild Coloricon in Glamrock, Wet n Wild palette in Vanity, ELF Lip primer & plumper, Nyx Glam Gloss in Aqua Luxe, Wet n Wild Mega Last l/s in Dollhouse Pink.
I can't wait to show you swatches of the polishes, I am currently wearing shocking pink- OMG. Both blushes are so pretty, I have been wanting Orchid for ages! I had to buy the WNW eyeshadows after seeing shaaanxo with them, I thought the ELF lip primer would be nice to see how it goes, and the other two looked too pretty to pass up!

Ozsale
Ozsale also had Bourjois on sale with almost everything at $10 a pop so I got the Healthy Mix concealer (I got this in 52 and it's a tiny bit too light but perfect for under the eyes), the Delice de Soleil Bronzing powder (I wanted the chocolate one but they didn't have it), Levres Contour lip liner in number 11, the Healthy Mix foundation in 53 (I looked it up in the foundation matrix because I didn't know which one to get, this is a good match except maybe a tiny bit too yellow but it's not too noticeable since I'm pretty sure I have neutral colouring), The Volume Fast & Perfect rotating mascara (Can't wait to try this but it is in line so it wont be for ages) and a blush in 54 Rose Frisson.

So that's pretty much all the cosmetics I've received recently and I'm not expecting anymore at the moment except for a clothing & a jewelery order.
Expect a bunch of reviews/ swatches and other posts in the upcoming future about these products, but please let me know if there's anything specifically that you want to see!

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!

Recent Nail Designs, obsessed with gradients!
I haven't properly posted my NOTW for a while so I've put together quite a few that I have done recently! We have had gel at my work for a little while so I was playing around with it a bit there but the truth was I missed playing with my colours which I did not want to neglect!

Ever since I used the cling-wrap method here I've wanted to do it again . Sadly I have to have my nails short for work- I've always had long nails so it sucks for me. =/

Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Material Girl, Sportsgirl Nail It! in Bionic.

I hadn't used a shatter polish for a while so I used my Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat polish in 06 Antiqued Gold over the top of Chi-Chi Salon Formula in Hissy Fit.
China Glaze Sweet Hook, Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber One less Lonely Girl.

My *first* go at gradient nails so it is a mess but I liked the colours together. You can still see my white base & there are gouges out of them and I had sponge sticking to my nails because I stupidly did not wet it first. I used China Glaze Pool Party, OPI Hot n Spicy & Ulta 3 Honolulu.

My Ombre nails which is different to a gradient as it does not fade subtly into another colour. I've already posted this Christmas mani. I used O.P.I's Goldeneye & Nicole by O.P.I Justin Bieber in OMB!. It was quite funny Christmas day we were lazing around that afternoon out in the sun when I bought out a nail polish to change my toes, and the ladies wanted theirs done so I brought out most of my collection (they were in awe over it hehe) and I ended up doing it for them too.

This was my NYE mani which I've again already posted but wanted it to be apart of this post, using OPI Koala Berry & OPI the living daylights. It didn't look as nice as how I thought it would!

My 2nd proper attempt at gradient nails, using Australis Nail Colour in Bombshell, China Glaze Sweet Hook & Rimmel 60 seconds in Bonzai. Still not perfect!

One of my fave mani's I have ever done, I think, my sunset gradient nails! I fell in loove with the contrast of the blue against the other colours. And the sparkles of course!

OPI Blue My Mind, OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold Em, OPI Hot n Spicy, China Glaze Yell-O-Neil, OPI China Glaze Snow Globe.

At the moment I have Australia day themed nails, which is coming up this sat 26th, on my toes I have the flag design & on my fingers, green & gold. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Thanks for looking girls I hope you like my nail designs! I want to start posting my nail polish collection, one day anyway haha, would you prefer to see them in brands or by colour?

First product purchases for 2013

January 16, 2013 0
First product purchases for 2013
Although I technically ordered a couple of these products before the end of last year, I have received them within the new year with much excitement & unfortunately, a little bit of disappointment. So here are my newest acquired makeup products for the year.

First up, my number one baby at the moment. I have been wanting this for soo long so when it finally came back into stock from www.kissandmakeupny.com I had to buy it. I'm sure most of you have heard about it/seen it/ tried it before but it is everything & more. I don't have too many "high end" products so when I do get them I cherish them. It is the perfect colour, doesn't look muddy & orangey, it has a slight shimmer but nothing to upset the face if you use it for contouring, which it is good for, too.

www.ozsale.com.au had another China Glaze sale on not too long ago. Unfortunately when I opened the packet I could smell nail polish straight away, & I knew something had gone terribly wrong.
This is the first time ever I have received a product in fault. The last 2 times I ordered nail polish from this website have been fine, but this most likely would have happened throughout the shipping process, although the package had fragile written on it. I also ordered another polish in the same order that I never got, but I messaged them to let them know & they said they would credit my account, no worries. But I am a bit sad that the other ones are tarnished, especially the pretty glitter!
The colours I got were Snow Globe & Celtic Sun. The one that was damaged was Skyscraper & the one I never got was the leather top coat (I needed a new topcoat too, damn it!)

Terry White Chemists often have sale bins where I found these next 2 Maybelline products. They had no testers to have a look at the colours but I just went for it anyway, I am usually an impulse buyer when I'm in a shop! This colour is very pretty but quite frosty, I like to layer it ontop of a nude matte lipstick.
I also bought the Age Rewind Dark Circle eraser to use as a highlighter under my eyes. Even though I don't have dark circles it is very brightening. It is lighter than my Garnier Roll-on eye concealer which I like. I like the softness of the foam applicator, although it is not hygienic, it is much softer than the Garnier.
Pretty Peony, Dark Circle Eraser in light-medium.
Another order which I completely forgot about were some lashes from Vau Beauty that were on ozsale. I haven't heard of them before so I don't know anything about the quality but I shall let you know! These pairs were $7 each. I haven't tried the feather ones before so I can't wait to try them!

A couple of other items I have received lately was a backup on my St Moriz Mousse tanner & my tanning mitt to go with it. I have also placed an order from cherryculture.com with lots of pretty glitters & a Bourjois order, yay! Oh and another CG one to make up for my last order.

What have been the first makeup products you've bought this year??

Recently Bought Items// Lips, Face & More

Recently Bought Items// Lips, Face & More
These are the items I have slowly collected over a few weeks. Unfortunately the delivery person in my town quit so we have had to collect our packages from the post office this past week, and I still have more waiting in the mail so that is frustrating.
Also I've found a few bargains but unfortunately they would probably be over, but if I find them I post on instagram so follow me @missashii_x
So I hold whatever lipsticks I don't stash away in my bag in an empty plastic chocolate container (oh you fancy, huh?) but I have wanted a separate lipstick holder to hold my faves so I can find them easier. I purchased this from ebay for around $12? & It feels really sturdy. Only downfall is that it fits in every lipstick size apart from my Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks but I can live with that.

www.ozsale.com.au had a sale on Revlon Lip Butters a while back & I was going to buy from there but found a good seller on ebay with even cheaper prices. I already have Creamsicle & I like the formula so I got a couple more. I wanted Peach Parafit but that seems to be sold out regularly!

You can't really see it properly but as soon as I tried these out a little bit chipped off the corner of them so Sweet Tart is already out of shape, boo :/

Not too keen on Gumdrop on me, I really shouldn't have bothered with that one :/ but Sweet Tart is really pretty! Unfortunately no lip swatches for these colours. Also as I type I have the swatches on my hands & its been a few hours, but out of all the swatches these 2 have disappeared the fastest. But it's ok as they are not marketed for long wear.
Ulta3 is a brand I have only seen in Terry White Chemists & they have an awesome selection of lipsticks. I bought a couple some years back but since then they have changed the packaging & probably the formula. For $3.95 they are a steal & look a lot more expensive than that! I already had the old Harem Pink colour which seems to be nothing like this, but I bought this again because of Mishelle who compared it to MAC Impassioned and it was such a close match!

The lip swatch is not true to colour but still looks pretty.
& now for another lipstick (can never have too many, right!?) It is the highly demanded Revlon Lip stains. They have only just been released in Australia so that is exciting. I think they are $17.95? I got mine in the colour Lovesick I thought it was the brightest pink there but apparently not, but I still really like it. They have a peppermint smell & feel a bit tingly when on the lips but is ultra moisturizing & lasts for a long time. However it goes on quite sheer-ly but darkens over time.

Another cult item I bought was another Maybelline Colorstay Tattoo eyeshadow (click here to see swatches of my other ones) in Edgy Emerald, a beautiful medium green colour I've wanted forever. Super pretty & shimmery! I'm wearing it under similar colours down bellow.

I also ordered a couple of China Glaze nail polishes from www.ozsale.com.au (they were just on sale & must come around every 4 weeks or so?).
Firstly I got the Ridge Filler because I really like to use that as a base coat for my toenails obviously as it fills in any ridges for smoother application.

& then I got these 2 colours, when I received them I realized I had ones similar to Pool Party already but I've wanted a pastel lavender colour forever. However I don't think it looks particularly good on me (much like Revlon Gumdrop)
I added some sparkles & hearts from Justin Bieber's Nicole by O.P.I One more lonely girl which makes it look nicer, but I'm getting used to the colour anyway :)

Something I bought a little while ago was the Garnier Roll On Anti-Dark circles in Light-Medium. It looks very light on my hand but when I put it under my eyes it exactly matches my foundation, however I like it to be a little bit lighter for brightness so I think I will give this away to a friend. Plus I don't really have any dark circles to begin with.

One of the bargains was at Coles none the less, for Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (loove) for only $12! Yep you heard me! I bought it in a lighter shade & my normal shade- soft beige. Love it so bad so at least I'm stocked up for a while.
I also bought the Stay Matte powder in translucent, thanks to Tanya Burr from Pixi2woo, although if you know me you know I like the dewy look, but in summer I want to keep the oily away and I wore this on a 35C day and my foundation looked perfect before I had to take it off! & this was only $10.

Another bargain was this Garnier pack in Woolworths for only $20, I bought it last Thursday so they may have it there still. After testing it out I decided I really liked it, I saw you could only get it in light or medium but I went medium even though it is a bit darker I can mix it with lighter colours if needed.
I probably will give the face wash a try, but I like what I use at the moment but it is good to change up your skin care every once in a while which is what I think I need atm anyway.
I use the body lotion for dry skin from Garnier anyway and I really do love it so lets see if I love this as much!
And here's the beach bag that came with it, a decent size except you would want to add an extra small bag for your phone keys lipgloss etc to keep it from getting sandy.
So those are my most recent {cosmetic} buys! I will probably hopefully have a few more come through the mail next week.
Let me know if you have tried any of these products and if you like them!
xx
