Elegant Night Time Smoky Look | FOTN

June 14, 2013 0
Elegant Night Time Smoky Look | FOTN
I loved wearing this on a night out for an elegant smoky eye look, I basically copied it from Lilpumpkinpie05 on Youtube from her Mila Kunis Smoky eye look which I have admired for a while now & I would say it is a relatively easy go-to glam look.
Oh & is any body else having trouble with some photos looking squished when uploaded to blogger through your computer files? Anyway I hope you like this, thanks for looking!
My hair was a bit of a fail, I've recently gotten a new hair straightener that I got through a sale (post coming soon) and was trying to create waves but it wasn't going in my favour but I still don't mind how it turned out, I like the messy look anyway!
Taken before I was finished with the eyelashes, hair & outfit.
Face | Australis Paparazzi Perfect foundation mixed with Garnier BB Cream, The Balm Time Balm concealer in light, Nars Laguna bronzer, MAC Lightscapade highligher, MAC Peachykeen blush
Eyes | First I used tape on the outer corner for a sharper edge, Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean {lid}, Urban Decay Naked 1: Creep {Outer v into crease}, Naked & Buck {blending} Toasted {lid}, Smog {lower lashline}, Naked 2: Verve {pressed with finger on center of lid} Foxy {brow bone} Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese with Urban Decay's Bootycall, {inner corner highlight}
Maybelline Master Precise eyeliner, Nyx Eyebrow Cake Powder, Maybelline The Falsies mascara, Carie lashes.
Lips | Revlon matte lipstick in Smoked Peach, Nyx Glam Lipgloss Aqua Luxe in VIP (unfortunately this must have fallen out of my bag when I was out! I'm always so paranoid if I bring makeup out I try to make sure it's cheap and easy to rebuy if I need to!)
So I really loved how this turned out and I think it would look so nice for any night time occasion,
I also would have taken an outfit picture if I had decent lighting at night time but it is a tight fitting nude dress with a lace overlay and sort of like a tank-top type sleeves (bad way to describe but you can kind of see anyway).

What is your go-to glam eye?
Thanks for looking!! xx

2x FOTD's: Bare lower lashline, Cat-Eyes.

2x FOTD's: Bare lower lashline, Cat-Eyes.
Hey lovely ladies <3
Ahh I have so many FOTD's to catch up on, it feels like I haven't posted a proper one in forever! So I will try to post them all close-ish together. I have been doing similar looks lately with bronzed & highlighted skin and "clean" eyes and I've started taking my pictures in different lighting as well. These 2 FOTD's have nothing on the lower lash line which I've been doing a bit more as it makes my eyes look more feline, awake & refreshed. (so I think, anyway!)

Stupid hairs in my face >.<

 ~Products~
Face: Rimmel Wake Me Up + Garnier BB Cream
NARS Laguna, MAC Lightscapade, Jordana Coral Sandy Reef blush
Eyes:  MAC Painterly Paintpot
Stila 'Kitten' [1st half of lid], Makeup Geek 'Sensuous' [Rest of Lid], MUG 'Purple Rain' [outer V], MUG 'Burlesque' [crease]. MUG 'Vanilla Bean' [blending] .
Maybelline Master Precise + Napoleon Perdis Black e/l to intensify.
Lips: Milani 'Rosehip' with a tiny bit of Topshop 'Show Off' in the center.

Look 2- I wanted to play around with blending out eyeshadow to create an eyeliner effect, keeping the lower lashline free of colour again. I did add a nude eyeliner to the waterline, though.

~Products~
Face: Nars Laguna Bronzer, MAC Lightscapade
Bourjois blush #16
Eyes: Light green from Bh Cosmetics Day & Night [lid]. Buck from Naked 2 [crease]. Matte White Inglot e/s [highlight, I probably should of used something not as stark], Essence mousse eyeshadow in black [blended out from lash line], MAC Contrast [ontop of black base].
Lips: MAC Myth, Maybelline Pink Peony (fave combo of these 2 colours!)

I haven't posted many proper FOTD's in a while but stay tuned because there is a whole heap coming your way!

Thanks for looking and have a fantastic day
xx

Festive Holiday Makeup

December 24, 2012 0
Festive Holiday Makeup

I wore this out to my partners work Christmas dinner, & wanted something a bit festive but not using the typical Christmas-y colours. I also knew I didn't want to wear red lips because I wore them out to dinner a few nights before & it faded & just looked awful, and I'd rather not worry about it!
My skin looks photoshopped, but please believe me that it's not!

Yes that is a feather extension poking out, I actually have 5 in my hair but because it's so thick they are always hiding.

There's a spot on my cheek where my bronzer skips over it, which is so annoying!!

 Products
Face: Australis Paparazzi Perfect Foundation in Nude
Nude by Nature Eye Definer
MAC Lightscapade
MAC Warm Soul

Eyes: Sugarpill Goldiluxe - Lid
MUG Galaxy- right on outside of gold.
MAC Contrast- outer lid. I had to use Nyx's Slide on pencil eyeliner in Sunrise Blue right in the outer V for that hint of bright blue to stand out.
MUG Burlesque- crease
MUG Sensuous- inner crease
MUG Shimma Shimma- highlight
Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner
BYS Lashes- once again they are really cheap quality so you can still see the lash band even with covering it with eyeliner :(

Lips: I had worn off Ulta3 Harem Pink but I added Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle over the top for a creamy pink.

I hope everyone has a merry & safe Christmas! xx

Jewel Smoky Eye Makeup

November 05, 2012 0
Jewel Smoky Eye Makeup

This was inspired by a fairly recent video of Lisa Eldridge just using a dark base & jewel-toned colours over the top. It really doesn't matter which colours you use or the placement as long as they stand out & are jewel-toned, however the black base will take away some of the brightness. Sadly this was an "all dressed up, nowhere to go" look but I had fun doing it and will def. do it again for a night out. You can also go with a nude lip with this but I wanted bright lips, too. Keep reading to see how I used my colours!

Sorry the pictures are horrible sizes- Click on them for a better look.

Ooh I just found this image with very similar colours but different placement- I will try this next time and also with a matte nude lip.

And also in this pic here, they are exactly the same but you can see it looks good on different eye & hair colours!

Glam Smoky Eye Picture Tutorial

October 30, 2012 0
Glam Smoky Eye Picture Tutorial
While I was doing this makeup for an engagement party I thought I may as well take pictures from each step for another tutorial. This is very similar to the eye's I wore here except a bit more glammed up with optional glitter, using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. Keep reading to see how to do this look!

Step 1. Prep & prime your eyes. Apply tape to the outer corner of your eye at a desired angle (you can see I remembered to do it in the 2nd step lol). Apply a sticky eye base if desired. I used Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil's in Cottage Cheese (C.C) & Slate to match the e/s colours, applying C.C 3/4 of the lid & Slate in the outer 1/4.
Step 2. Blend out & apply more if needed. Only add a little bit at a time to avoid creasing later on.
Step 3. Apply Verve (Satin silvery-white colour) from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette over the top of C.C.
Step 4. Apply Pistol (Satin Slatey-grey) over the top of the Slate JEP.

Step 5. Blend Tease (Matte taupe y-purple) into the crease & blend out further with Foxy (Matte light skin-tone colour)

Step 6. Apply Blackout (matte black) into the outer v, bringing down into lashline & blending with a fluffy brush.

Step 7. Using your fave eyeliner (I used Maybelline Master Precise) & apply it in whatever way you like the most. If you want to wing it out just follow the tape for an ultra precise line.

Step 8. Apply C.C into the areas you wish to highlight (brow bone, inner corner)

Step 9. Blend & apply Bootycall (Shimmery highlight colour) over the top.

Step 10. Rip off that tape! Apply C.C again to the lower lash line & apply Verve over the top. Don't worry about the mess, you can fix it up with undereye concealer afterwards. Also apply Pistol to the outer half of the lower lashline. You can blend it up into the outer corner if you like but I'm going to leave mine unblended.
Step 11. Optional: Apply a silver glitter over the eyeshadow you have applied on the lower lashline (that was to give it more dimension if needed). Set with a glitter shadow so you don't have to wait forever for it to dry. I used Nyx Candy Glitter Eyeliner in Disco Ball & set with Nyx Glitter Mania in Silver.

Step 12. Apply a black gel eyeliner into the waterline. I used a black pencil dipped in my BYS Gel Eyeliner which I learnt from Marlena @ Makeupgeek & I really like doing it that way because it's easier & firmer to blend into the lashline than with a brush. You have to be careful not too get too much on, though. Oh haii I've suddenly decided to fill in my 'brows lol.

Step 13. Blend into the lower lash line & set with Blackout. Apply mascara to top & bottom eyelashes.
Step 14. Apply lashes to glam the look up further (these are on there last legs haha so mankyy! Need to replace them!) & there you have it!
& now to spam you with pictures of my face! Haha.

Looking nekkid!

On the rest of ma face:
Australis Paparazzi Perfect Foundation, Nude by Nature Eye Definer, MAC Dollymix
Lips: Rimmel Shocking Pink with Maybelline Coral Crush (seriously best colour to mix with pinks!)

Thanks for looking, I hope the tutorial is helpful & the pictures are clear. Leave your feedback about it!
